One of the oft-noted facts in the few weeks since the media backlash surrounding Indiana’s recently passed Religious Freedom Restoration Act is that 19 other states have similar laws.  So why hasn’t controversy and negative public opinion bombarded all of these states?

Can we at least agree on two things?

(1)  We have a problem.

(2)  We need to do something about it.

Institutions of higher learning today emphatically place themselves on the frontlines of the battle for political correctness.

The gender gap we see in care work has historically remained unexamined and undervalued.  In our first look at the nature and history of care giving, we observed the importance and benefits that care work holds for society.

On July 26, 1990, President George H. W. Bush signed into law the most comprehensive civil rights bill in decades: the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 

Today more than half of our prison population in the United States has one or more children at home.

Care giving is vital for the health and progress of a society. It can take on many forms, from raising children or tending to a sick grandparent, to preparing meals and preforming household chores.

Change begins when you see that teenager standing on the corner and you sow a seed, whether it is knowledge or sharing the love of God. 

We further rob the dignity of these members of the human family if we pretend that their torture does not merit our mourning and our outrage and our concern.

The grand jury’s decision not to indict is not the same thing as Wilson being exonerated at the conclusion of a trial. It’s a decision not to pursue justice further.
